On the 24th of September our trip to Ireland started. We met at 5:30 am in front of the school and drove by bus to Vienna Airport. After we had passed the security check, we were very excited and some of us were nervous because it was their first flight. In Dublin we met our host families. They were really nice and they talked to us a lot, so we could improve our English.
In Dublin we had a great time. We saw a lot of sights and different places (The Spire, the Half Penny Bridge, Trinity College, Molly Malone, The Temple Bar, …) and we also had an Irish dance workshop. Every day we went to a language school where we learnt about Irish history and some other things. We had two long trips with our teachers on the weekend, where we went to Malahide Castle and Glendalough. I think Glendalough was a highlight for the whole class because it was such a great trip. We had a fantastic view with the lake and the woods and we also had so much fun.
During the week we did a tour through Dublin, went shopping and bowling and one day we did a Viking Splash tour, which was really, really, really great. We drove in a small bus, which could drive on land and on water, to see Dublin in different ways. Our tour guide was the best because he was so funny and he included the people outside on the streets. We also had to scare them with screams, which was very funny.
We all enjoyed this great trip very much and we will never forget these wonderful days in Ireland, where we got to know a different country, practised our English and experienced a lot of new things. Thanks a lot to our great teachers, Miss Adam and Miss Göttlich - I hope they enjoyed the trip with us, too.
